I jailbreak so I can install apps like Intelliscreen X and Zephyr. If you jailbreak, you understand the allure of Cydia and all the fantastics apps available therein. If you don't jailbreak, then the video below from Mario Dabek of Jailbreak Matrix has 100 reasons why you might want to consider cracking open your device to apps outside the iOS App Store.

LockDate: Customize Your iPhone Lock Screen’s Date [Jailbreak Tweak]

There is too many people wish to get the ability to change their iPhone lock screen's date so that today I would like to tell them that they will be able to customize their iPhone lock screen's date with a new jailbreak tweak called "LockDate" and it is a very simple tweak that gives you the ability to chance the color,text,font of the date at the lockscreen... Check out the photo below which shows what I mean..
After you install the tweak on your iPhone, all what you have to do is going to settings and tab on LockDate you will find this menu which shows "Text", "Color" and finally "Font" each of these functions gives you the ability to change the color of the date and chance font..etc.. I know that maybe some users see it as it is a ridiculous tweak but I thought it will be a great thing to share this tweak with my followers.. if you are interested in this tweak you can get it for free from Cydia store via BigBoss repo..

Tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0 on Apple TV now available

fireCoreSome good news for 2nd generation (not 3rd generation yet, unfortunately) Apple TV owners who love their jailbreak; fireCore has now announced that the iDevice has been successfully jailbroken on iOS 5.0 (currently the most recent version) for Apple TV. The slightly bad news is that the jailbreak is only tethered for now, requiring users to connect it to their Mac or PC upon every boot. fireCore will also set you back $ 29.95, although this is certainly worth it for all of the cool features you get from jailbreaking.

While some jailbreak plugins are functional on iOS 5.0 for Apple TV, some aren’t. A complete list of what is and what isn’t currently compatible is as follows:

Working:

  • Couch Surfer
  • Last.fm
  • Maintenance
  • Media Player
  • NitoTV
  • RSS Feeds
  • Weather

Not working:

  • Overflow
  • Plex
  • Remote HD
  • Rowmote
  • XBMC

The non-working plugins are expected to be updated for the new Apple TV iOS version soon, but for now you can still enjoy everything that is available while you wait for the rest. You can also opt to wait for an untethered jailbreak, which is expected to be released sometime soon.
